History

Lotus Nelumbo nucifera is the esteemed Asian water lily. It grows in shallow ponds. Ancients observed the roots; symmetrical pattern resembling lungs and attributed an affinity with their energy. Lotus Root Tea is called “kohren” in Japan.

Directions

Boil 1 cup water, 1 teaspoon lotus tea, and a few grains of sea salt. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes. Drink hot.
