Their inkblot-like patterning may be open to debate (can you see the toy soldier they’re named after?), but we can all agree that classic European Soldier Beans are a welcome addition to any kitchen!
Sort & Rinse. Cover with water & soak overnight. Drain. Bring 2 cups water & 1 cup beans to boil, reduce & simmer 1-1½ hours or until tender. Drain & serve.
Suggested Uses:
• Try in traditional New England-style baked beans.
• Ideal for slow-cooked soups, stews, & casseroles.
• Sub for navy or great northern beans.
For optimal shelf life, store in a cool, dry place.
