Once lost to history, this heirloom grain has been rediscovered & revived for a new generation! A nutrient-rich hulless variety, purple barley is noted for its hearty texture, nutty flavor, & beautiful color.

Directions

Sort & rinse. Bring 3 cups water & 1 cup barley to boil, reduce, & simmer, covered, for 40-50 minutes, or until grain is tender.

Suggested Uses:

• Cook in fruit juice, then top with toasted nuts & fresh fruit for a hearty breakfast.

• Sub for rice in soups, stews, pilafs, & salads.

• Grind into a flour for use in breads & baked goods

For optimal shelf life, store in a cool, dry place.
